Hamilton survived a scare at the start, when he ran wide at the first corner after locking a front tyre, however with Verstappen getting a penalty for cutting across the grass in the last few laps fighting with Vettel for the 3rd place, It is surprising Hamilton has not received a penalty for cutting the grass at the opening lap with Rosberg.

This is Hamilton’s 51st F1 win of his career.

In the championship, the result changes little – Rosberg can win the title finishing second to Hamilton at the last two races.

Hamilton is 19 points adrift with a total of 50 available in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

Force India increase their lead in the fight with Williams for the 4th point in the championship by 1 point.

Finally, Ferrari get their strategy right, Vettel takes the 3rd spot on the podium, after a late call by the stewards that Vestappen gets a 5 seconds time penalty.
